Biography
Before talkies had found their voice, Daniel Bertona had already slipped two footprints into cinema’s wet cement: in 1914 he turned the card-shark melodrama “Forgiven; or, the Jack of Diamonds” into flickering reality, and two years later he guided “The Sunbeam” from script to screen, both films carrying his signature though the world has largely forgotten the hand that signed them.
