Biography
Brooklyn welcomed David Andrada on a winter-bright 27 December 1865, and the restless borough’s swagger never left his stride. In front of the camera he became the hot-blooded Mercutio for the 1911 screen take on Romeo and Juliet, traded poetry for desperation in 1914’s bleak drama Without Hope, then slipped into the role of steadfast mentor that same year in The Guiding Hand. When the lights dimmed for the last time he had settled along the Jersey shore, dying quietly in Long Branch on 3 January 1941.
