Biography
Detroit greeted Dixie Chene on 31 July 1894, and by 1914 she was already flickering across nickelodeon screens. Audiences first noticed her in *Cursed by His Beauty*, then doubled their laughs the next year when she dove head-first into *Their Social Splash* and traded books for mischief in *Those College Girls*. After the klieg lights dimmed, she slipped westward, settling in Los Angeles, where her final curtain fell on 30 April 1972.
