Biography
A winter baby born in Memphis on 23 January 1868, Dodson Mitchell grew up to trade courtroom briefs for greasepaint and manuscripts. Between 1914 and 1930 he slipped audiences into smoky back rooms in The Conspiracy, cornered them in a 1924 crime thriller, then escorted them down a 1930 Road to Paradise. Off-camera he shared his life with actress Alice Reymour. His final exit came in New York City on 2 June 1939, closing a quiet but memorable act.
