Biography
St. Louis, 1864: a baby named Ed Begley drew breath, little guessing that flickering silver screens would one day carry his face across the world. Between nickelodeon haze and the birth of Hollywood, Begley stepped before primitive cameras, lending his talents to Judy Forgot in 1915 and, three years later, to Marriages Are Made, silents that still whisper his name to archivists. Off-set, he shared his life with Clara L. Keller, his steadfast partner until the final reel. The curtain fell for good on 15 February 1933 in New York City, but those surviving frames keep Ed Begley forever alive in cinema’s twilight dawn.
