Biography
A spring baby—26 March 1896—Edith Hallor first drew breath in Washington, D.C., and by 1920 had traded the capital’s marble corridors for the flicker of silent-film arc lights. Audiences noticed her in The Blue Pearl that year, again in Children of Destiny, and once more in 1921’s Just Outside the Door, three pictures that sealed her brief but bright reign on the early screen. Away from the camera she said “I do” twice—first to director John Francis Dillon, later to impresario L. Laurence Weber—before slipping into a quieter life. She was 75 when the Pacific claimed her on 21 May 1971 in Newport Beach, California.
