Biography
Edith Ritchie stepped before the camera when movies still learned to walk, lending her presence to *The Wolf* in 1914 and, within twelve swift months, to both *The College Widow* and *The Great Ruby*. Off-screen, she shared her life with fellow performer Steven Morris. Barely a year after those twin 1915 releases, she died in Philadelphia on 24 March 1916, leaving the young film industry to grow up without her.
