Biography
Edmond Hansen spent the last half of the 1910s shuttling between stage and screen, leaving a small but unmistakable thumbprint on early Scandinavian cinema. In 1915 he stepped in front of the camera for Högsta vinsten, then pivoted behind it to helm Ålderdom och dårskap the following year, proving he could coax performances from others as easily as he delivered his own. His 1919 melodrama Ich diente um Dich capped the streak—three films in five years, each one a silent testament to a career just gaining momentum. Hansen never saw the new decade; he died in 1920, aged only thirty-something, his brief filmography frozen in time like a reel stopped mid-frame.
