Biography
A Christmas-week baby, Edna Flugrath first drew breath on 30 December 1892 amid the electric bustle of Brooklyn, New York. Before talkies stole the spotlight, she was already casting spells on silent screens—stealing hearts in Nursery Favorites (1913), masquerading through The Two Columbines (1914), and guiding Kipps (1921) from page to celluloid. Off-set, she said “I do” twice—first to Halliburton Houghton, later to Harold M. Shaw—then stepped away from the klieg lights for good. She closed her final scene on 6 April 1966 in sun-drenched San Diego, California, leaving behind flickering images that still move without a sound.
