Biography
On the 14th of January 1887, Portugal welcomed Édouard Pinto into the world—an actor who would step before the camera just as cinema itself was learning to walk. Within Victorin Jasset’s 1913 crime caper Zigomar – the Black Scourge – Episode 1 he slipped into the shadows of Parisian rooftops, and the same year he traded espionage for espionage in Protéa, lending his presence to one of France’s earliest spy serials. Six years later, with the Great War still echoing, Pinto appeared in Le bonheur des autres, quietly reminding audiences that silver-screen stories could still speak of other people’s joy.
