Biography
A winter baby, Edwin Mordant arrived in Baltimore on 22 December 1868 and grew into a performer whose quiet authority lit up early silent reels. Between 1915 and 1937 he slipped into characters audiences still remember: the steadfast suitor of Molly Make-Believe, the lone upright brother among The Seven Sisters, and the wily tycoon of County Fair. Off-screen, three women—Grace Parthenia Atwell, Virginia Stuart, and Ola Humphrey—shared his name across three separate marriages. His final curtain fell in Hollywood on 16 February 1942, closing a life that had spanned the birth of cinema itself.
