Biography
Long before talkies, Egidio Candiani stepped before the camera and froze three moments in time: in 1913, he walked the plague-haunted streets of Lombardy for The Betrothed, swapped jokes and sabre-rattles with The Two Sergeants, and, a year later, laid down La vita per il Re—an oath sealed on silent celluloid.
