Biography
August 24, 1868: a fishing town on Norway’s west coast welcomed Egil Eide. By 1914 he had stepped before the camera, guiding audiences through the emotional gauntlet of *Saints and Sorrows*, and the following year he showed the heart of bohemia in *När konstnärer älska*. In 1917 he both directed and starred in *Envar sin egen lyckas smed*, cementing his place in silent-era memory. Nearly three decades later, on December 13, 1946, the curtain fell for the last time—this time in Sweden.
