Biography
Born with a flair for the dramatic, Einar Zangenberg first honed his craft on the Copenhagen stage before the nascent world of silent cinema called to him in 1908. He swiftly became a sensation, carving out a reputation as Danish silent film's quintessential daredevil. Whether plunging into waters, racing automobiles, or soaring through the air, Zangenberg consistently captivated audiences with his audacious stunts. A true cinematic polymath and a wanderer by nature, he seamlessly transitioned between roles as an actor, director, and writer, leaving his mark across Denmark and Sweden before ultimately settling in Germany in 1914. Though the thrilling action and adventure films he created during his prolific German and Austrian period are tragically lost to time and memory today, they once electrified eager moviegoers. In Germany, his creative spirit found a home with Flora-Film. His remarkable life, shared with actress Alfi Zangenberg, was cut short at the tender age of 35, when he succumbed to the devastating Spanish Influenza in Vienna, Austria.
