Biography
Elizabeth Nizan first drew breath in 1896 amid the hush of provincial France, stepped before the camera while the Great War still raged, and left three lightning-bolts of celluloid behind: Sadounah in 1915, La dixième symphonie in 1918, and Abel Gance’s thunderous J’accuse! the following year. After the shutters closed on her final scene, she slipped back into quiet French life and remained there until 1969.
