Biography
Born in Copenhagen on 19 September 1895, Else Schiwe stepped before the camera during the twilight of Danish silent cinema, lending her presence to Enhver (1915) and, twice in the same year, to the marital drama En Skilsmisse (1916). Off-screen she wed William Lygon, exchanging Nordic film sets for English country estates. Nearly a century after her first close-up, she drew her final breath on 13 November 1989 in Madresfield, Worcestershire.
