Biography
Horsens, Denmark, welcomed Emanuel Gregers on 28 December 1881, and from that modest start he built a life that flickered across stage and screen. Between silents and talkies he shaped stories: audiences swooned to *Love in Exile* in 1923, laughed through the champagne fizz of *Cocktail* in 1937, and hummed along with the nationwide flirtation *Alle gaar rundt og forelsker sig* in 1941. Off-camera he collected more wedding rings than most—Ruth Saabye, Marguerite Viby, Kiss Gregers, Bodil Ipsen and Ella Olsen each shared a chapter of his life. When the final curtain fell on 21 March 1957, Copenhagen, the city that had become his professional home, became his resting place as well.
