Biography
In 1914 Ettore Mazzanti stepped behind the camera for Germania, a wartime drama that stamped his name on the newborn Italian cinema; two years later he traded trenches for eternity with Storia… eterna, an ambitious 1916 fantasy that stretched the era’s imagination. By 1918 he had galloped into legend again, chronicling the exploits of an American adventurer in Le gesta di John Blick and sealing a brief but trail-blazing sprint through the silent era.
