Biography
A December child of 1910, Eunice Woodruff first opened her eyes in the flicker of Los Angeles, the same city whose studio lights would soon reflect in hers. Before she turned ten she had traded schoolrooms for sound stages, stealing scenes in *Virtuous Sinners* and *The Lady of Red Butte*—both released in the whirlwind year of 1919—and rounding out the silent era with 1920’s *Out of the Dust*. The cameras stopped rolling on 15 July 1921, when the same California sunlight that ushered in her life quietly ushered it out.
