Biography
July 12, 1886, Brooklyn buzzed with horse-drawn traffic the day Fannie Bourke arrived; decades later, the silver screen would buzz back at her. Between 1914 and 1920 she slipped into three very different skins: a fragile soul in *The Cripple*, a spark plug in *Right Off the Bat*, and a cupid in disguise in *The Love Expert*. Off-set, she traded scripts for vows with Charles Mather. The final curtain fell on March 9, 1959, in Norwalk, Connecticut, but the flicker of her early films keeps her Brooklyn spark alive.
