Biography
Born beneath the pines of Pierce, Idaho, on 6 May 1872, Fannie Yantis stepped onto the boards when flickers were still learning to flicker. Between 1915 and 1922 she slipped into three very different skins: she chased trolls through Peer Gynt, campaigned for laughs in The Reform Candidate, and wilted elegantly as The Wall Flower. Off-screen she collected surnames—first Henry Stockbridge, later Earle Browne—before the final curtain fell in Glendale, California, on 17 July 1929.
