Biography
In the flickering dawn of feature-length cinema, railway engineer-turned-director F.J. Tyler traded locomotives for light beams and, in 1915, steered America’s first full-scale screen version of Mary Roberts Rinehart’s page-turner “The Circular Staircase” onto marquees nationwide.
