Florence Stover slipped onto the screen just as the silent era was finding its voice, leaving three quick footprints: she glittered through the society salons of *Vanity Fair* in 1915, then rolled up her sleeves to help erect *Builders of Castles* two years later, and, still in 1917, pronounced *The Last Sentence* before retreating into the shadows from which she came.
