Biography
Decatur, Indiana, welcomed Floyd France on 29 April 1890, and by 1917 he was already sprinting through the nascent movie business, directing and acting in a trio of one-reel whirlwinds: the buzz-crazy comedy *Putting the Bee in Herbert*, the jewel-heist adventure *The Princess’ Necklace*, and the rowdy frontier tale *The Luck of Roaring Camp*. Off-screen, he shared his life with Elizabeth Burden. Six decades after his first taste of Indiana air, he drew his last breath in Los Angeles on 19 August 1957.
