Biography
Born among the coal-smoke of Durham on 28 October 1882, Frank Cochrane traded the pit-head chimneys for the footlights, carving out a screen career that peaked with three brisk adventures—Chu Chin Chow’s bazaar dazzle (1934), Hell’s Cargo’s briny peril (1935), and the spy-chase Bulldog Drummond at Bay (1937). Off-camera he shared the spotlight with actress Eve Titheradge, his wife and brightest scene-partner. The curtain rang down in London on 21 May 1962.
