Biography
On 4 June 1876, in the market town of Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, Frank Goldsmith drew his first breath. Between the flicker of early British cinema and the advent of talkies, he stepped before the camera, lending his presence to The Clemenceau Case in 1915, to A Fool and His Money five years later, and to The Mystery of the Dancing Men in 1923. Seventy-nine summers after his birth, on 9 June 1958, he exhaled his last in Folkestone, Kent, leaving the screen—and the seaside town—behind.
