Biography
Frank Holland entered the world on 20 May 1876 and spent the next seventy-four years turning silence into spectacle. Silent-era audiences remember his face flashing across the screen in Lola (1914), The Ventures of Marguerite (1915), and The Blazing Trail (1921)—three quick bursts of flickering light that still carry his name. When the curtain finally fell on 8 July 1950, it dropped in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the same Midwestern city where his first breath had been taken.
