Biography
Philadelphia greeted Frank Tinney on 29 March 1878, and by the time reels began to spin he had traded street-corner quips for screen time. In 1915 he slipped into The Governor’s Boss, then lit up Broadway After Dark nine years later, letting his rubber-face timing steal both silents and talkies. Off-camera he claimed vaudevillian Edna Davenport as his wife and fiercest audience. The final curtain fell on 28 November 1940 in Northport, Long Island, but the grin he pasted on early cinema still flickers.
