Frankie Evans

Biography

Frank Berford Evans was born in the Bronx, NYC, to Berthome and Claire Evans. By age 4 he was appearing on stage and was cast in 5 silent films before his father's passing in 1928. After his mother remarried and relocated to Canada, Frankie left behind his acting days and years later would enlist in the US Army Air force in 1941. He flew C-47s during WW2 and WB-50s over the Pacific as a typhoon chaser, eventually retiring as an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel in 1961. He suffered a fatal stroke in 1978 while living in Arizona.
