Biography
Boston, 30 June 1868: a restless redhead named George De Carlton first hollered at the world. Within four decades he had slipped behind the camera as an assistant director and in front of it as a chameleon character actor, leaving ghostly footprints in three 1915 one-reelers—Life Without Soul, Samson, and The Plunderer. Off-screen he claimed Grace DeCarlton as his lifelong scene partner. The final curtain fell on 15 May 1935 in the mountain air of Saranac, New York.
