Biography
George Ingleton entered the world in 1861, trading the quiet of his early years for grease-paint and manuscript pages. By 1915 he was haunting the silent screen in *The Sins of Society*, followed five years later by the marital storms of *Mid-Channel* and, in 1924, the moral tangles of *The Clean Heart*. Off-camera he sharpened plots and dialogue with equal vigor, proving as comfortable behind a typewriter as beneath the studio lights. His final curtain fell on 19 May 1926, deep in California’s rugged Dark Canyon.
