Biography
George Soule Spencer entered the world on 25 September 1874 amid the forests and lakes of Wisconsin, but the footlights soon lured him elsewhere. Between 1911 and 1914 he slipped into the skin of other men for the camera: he chased fortune in How Bella Was Won, submitted to fate in The Third Degree, and prowled the shadows of The Wolf. After the last reel ran through the projector, he settled in California, where he died in Los Angeles on 7 August 1949.
