Biography
Once the curtain fell on his time in silent cinema, George J. Uttal traded the flickering lights of the screen for a career in commerce. He spent his final professional years as a salesman for the Popper-Morson Company in Jersey City, where he was a key figure in the distribution of Fort William whiskey. A lifelong bachelor, Uttal was a distinguished charter member of the 'Fifty Club.' He eventually returned to the company of his family, finding his final rest alongside his brothers and sisters at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Queens, New York.
