Biography
George W. Middleton greeted the world on New Year’s Day 1833 amid the clang of Manhattan’s streets. A stage veteran, he stepped before the cameras late in life, lending his weathered presence to Hearts of Oak and Born Again in 1914 and sealing his screen legacy with 1915’s The Soul of Broadway. Off-camera, he shared his life with Anna Rebecca Ketchum. Just twenty-five days past his eighty-third birthday, Middleton closed his final act in the same city where his story began, on 25 January 1916.
