Biography
Before the world learned to flicker in twenty-four frames per second, Gerardo Peña had already stepped through time’s back door. In 1914 he surfaced in La lucha contra el destino, carrying the weight of pre-revolutionary Mexico on his shoulders. Three years later, while Europe still echoed with gunfire, he walked into the storm of La figlia della tempesta, a silent tempest brewed in 1917. By 1919 he had crossed borders and languages, slipping behind La maschera di Venere to reveal, without a whisper, the many faces of desire.
