Biography
Turin, 2 July 1888: the curtain rose on Gian Paolo Rosmino long before audiences ever saw his name on the marquee. By 1920 he had already stepped behind the camera to steer *L’assassinio del Jokey*, proving himself as nimble a director as he was a performer. Sixteen years later he slipped into the cassock of Don Bosco for the cameras, and in 1940 he sent sleeper-car sparks flying with *Le sorprese del vagone letto*. Nine decades after that first breath in Piedmont, the final fade-out came on 20 July 1982 in seaside Rapallo, Liguria, closing an Italian film odyssey that stretched from silent shadows to talkie sparkle.
