Biography
On the nineteenth of July, 1898, the bustling port of Smyrna—today’s İzmir—welcomed Giulietta De Riso into the world. Barely fifteen, she stepped before the camera for Mater dolorosa (1913), giving audiences the first glimpse of a talent that would blaze across early Italian cinema. Over the next twelve months she returned twice more to the screen: bidding happiness farewell in Addio felicità! (1914) and unraveling secrets amid the tides of L’eredità della laguna (1914).
