Gudrun Houlberg burst onto the screen in 1914 with *Hans første Kærlighed*, marking the start of a luminous acting career. Born on February 21, 1889, she became a familiar face in early 20th-century Danish cinema, stealing hearts in *Hans Kæreste* (1918) and later electrifying audiences with her performance in *Skaf en Sensation* (1934). Her personal life was equally eventful, as she formed two significant unions—first with Poul Middelboe, then with Helge Nissen. Her story, however, came to a bittersweet close on January 14, 1940, in Rome’s Lazio region, where she passed away, leaving behind a legacy etched in film history.
