Biography
A Sacramento summer delivered Guy D’Ennery on 4 June 1884, and by 1913 he was already igniting silent screens in The Regeneration of John Storm. Fifteen years later he stepped into history as part of the first all-talking feature, Lights of New York, and in 1940 he battled cliff-hanging peril amid the twelve-chapter sweep of Drums of Fu Manchu. After nine dozen birthdays, the curtain rang down on 17 October 1978 in Oakland, just across the California bay from where his first act began.
