Biography
Born under the frost-laced January sky of 1872 in Szeged—then still stitched into the Habsburg tapestry—Gyula Nagy grew up to breathe life into flickering celluloid dreams. Audiences first felt his quiet magnetism as Liliomfi in 1915; two years later he stepped before the camera again as the resolute schoolmaster of *A tanítónö*, and in 1918 he wrapped himself in the shadows of *Ciklámen*. When the final curtain fell on 19 October 1951, he rested in Kerepes, leaving behind the glow of a pioneering Hungarian screen.
