Biography
April 27, 1883, Brooklyn’s busy streets welcomed Harold Foshay, a boy who would trade the clang of city life for the hush of spotlights. By 1915 he had stepped before the camera as the lead in *The Goddess*, launching a screen career that sprinted through the serial thrills of *The Scarlet Runner* (1916) and into the dark split soul of *Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde* (1920). Off-screen, he claimed Ruth Hamilton’s heart as his leading lady; together they navigated the shifting reels of life. The final curtain fell on February 23, 1953, in Charleston, South Carolina, where the tide carried him gently out of frame.
