Biography

Harry Linson first drew breath on 26 August 1839 amid the river-hum of Louisville, Kentucky. Long before the twentieth century flickered to life, he was already honing the craft that would later glow on silent screens. Audiences today still meet him in the flicker of The Declaration of Independence (1911), feel hoof-beats echo through The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere (1914), and wander the dream-lit paths of The Gates of Eden (1916). Off-camera, two marriages—first to Teckla Weiner, later to Mary Woodhouse—framed his private acts. The final curtain fell on 13 March 1926 in the Bronx, New York, closing a life that spanned candlelight to cinema.
