Biography
Before cameras rolled on Australia’s first home-grown feature, 1914’s The Silence of Dean Maitland, Harry Thomas had already slipped behind the lens, quietly shaping the country’s earliest screen images. Four years later he did it again, coaxing Just Peggy through production in 1918. Little else is documented, yet those two titles alone place him at the cradle of Australian cinema.
