Biography
Philadelphia welcomed Harry Watson in June 1876, and by the time the century turned he had already begun trading city streets for klieg lights. Between 1915 and 1930 he built a résumé that stretched from the one-reel romp Keep Moving to the feature-length laughs of Zander the Great, topping off his career with Crosby's Corners—released the same year fate reeled him in. The final curtain fell on 23 September 1930 in Monrovia, California, closing the life of a performer who helped move American comedy from flicker to flourish.
