Biography
Hay Plumb entered the world in 1883 amid the cathedral-shadowed lanes of Norwich, Norfolk. Behind the camera and occasionally in front of it, he steered the silent-era adventures of Hawkeye—first in 1913’s Hawkeye Has to Hurry, then the same year’s cross-country romp Hawkeye Rides in a Point-to-Point, and finally the 1915 feature King of the Castle. His directing slate and acting credits ran out with the fading of the silents, and he closed his final scene in 1960 in Uxbridge, Middlesex.
