Biography
Born in Saratoga Springs, New York, in 1908, Helen Badgley’s cinematic journey began at the tender age of three. Debuting as 'The Baby' in the 1911 production Brother Bob's Baby, she quickly became a fixture of the silent era, earning the endearing nickname 'The Thanhouser Kidlet.' Her prolific childhood career hit a temporary snag at age six when she 'retired' to wait for her permanent front teeth to grow in. Loyal to her studio, she remained a Thanhouser mainstay nearly until the company folded, delivering performances in features such as The Candy Girl (1917), The Heart of Ezra Greer (1917), and Fires of Youth (1918). Following her time in the spotlight, she married a radio and recording studio owner and relocated to the desert landscapes of Arizona. Helen spent her final years in Phoenix, where she passed away on October 25, 1977.
