Biography
A Hoosier spring delivered Helen Case to the world on 8 May 1885 in the small riverside town of Petersburgh, Indiana. By the flicker of early klieg lights she stepped before the camera, animating the one-reel frontier saga The Romance of the Utah Pioneers in 1913, galloping through the cowboy romance The Cowboy and the Lady two years later, and chasing cliff-hanging peril in 1919’s serial The Adventures of Ruth. After the reels stopped spinning she slipped quietly into desert life, her final scene unfolding beneath the wide Tucson sky in March 1977.
