Biography
Henrietta Crosman first drew breath on 2 September 1861 amid the river-hills of Wheeling, West Virginia, and spent the next eight-three years polishing a talent that lit up stage and screen. Moviegoers today still shiver at her searing turns in Pilgrimage (1933), Charlie Chan’s Secret (1935), and The Right to Live (1935), yet her resume stretches back to Victorian footlights. Along the way she shared her life—and scripts—with two husbands, Maurice Campbell and Sedley Brown. She took her final bow on 31 October 1944 in Pelham Manor, New York, leaving behind a legacy etched in celluloid and memory.
