Biography
Henry G. Sell entered the world on 31 July 1884 amid the citrus groves and fledgling movie lots of Los Angeles. Between 1915 and 1921 he slipped in and out of silent-era costumes—first as a philanderer in Fine Feathers (1915), then dodging danger across fifteen cliff-hanging reels of The Seven Pearls (1917), and finally shouldering the melodrama of East Lynne (1921). When talkies arrived he stepped away from the klieg lights, living quietly until his final scene closed on 20 August 1968 in Hartford, Connecticut.
