Biography
Henry Leone drew his first breath on 30 March 1858 in the scented alleyways of Constantinople—today’s Istanbul—while the Ottoman Empire still straddled two continents. A lifetime later, he stepped before the camera, lending his presence to The Heart of the Hills (1916), Tangled Lives (1917), and Fair Lady (1922). Off-screen, he shared his life with two wives: Elizabeth and, later, Anne Dale. His final curtain fell on 9 June 1922, in Mount Vernon, New York, where the Hudson Valley light replaced the Bosporus glow forever.
